Domain Name Information
Looking in the domain name records shows us that they have been around since 2002. This is normally a good indication of a more reliable and legit pharmacy.
The records also reveal that a domain privacy service has been employed to hide the details of ownership of this pharmacy.
That isn’t normally such a good thing to find, as naturally, a pharmacy which wants to hide its information may not be trustworthy.
They provide a contact address for this business on their site. This gives us an address in Surrey, BC, Canada.
However, when we check on these details, the suite they mention as part of the address isn’t offices as you might have been expecting. In fact, the suite is really a PO box address from a UPS Store in Surrey, Canada.
They don’t provide a different business name other than “Medications Canada” which seems like a trading name and not a real business registered with the Canadian Government. When we check on the Government’s database there is no sign of this business.
This leaves us unsure who operates this pharmacy or even if they are actually located in Canada as they claim.
This pharmacy uses some regulatory seals from the Canadian associations CIPA, IPABC and Pharmacy Checker. When we check with these organizations to make sure that they have valid memberships we can see that they do and are allowed to display the seals.
When we run a check with LegitScript we find that they give a finding of unapproved for the pharmacy. This indicates that the store doesn’t meet all of their requirements to make them confident that this is a reputable drugstore.
A good range of both brand and the cheaper generic treatments are offered by this pharmacy. The prices are somewhat higher than those we see online, however.
They don’t make it very clear up front, but this Canadian drugstore dispenses pills from not only Canada but other countries as well. They use international fulfillment centers in India, Turkey, New Zealand, Mauritius, Singapore, the UK and the US.
This could potentially lead to a greater chance of counterfeit and dangerous pills from entering their supply chain and could be of some concern. They do let you know in advance if you are happy with where the meds are dispatched from, though not on the product pages themselves.
They do correctly demand a valid prescription from you. They have an upload service to allow you to scan your prescription and give them a copy. Even if you do this they still need the original copy from you, but the upload service will make sure that you get your meds faster.
Payment and Shipping
This pharmacy doesn’t accept health insurance to pay for your pills. They do accept the following:
- American Express
- Money orders
- Personal or certified check
Shipping is expected to take between 2 and 4 weeks for your order to arrive. There is a charge of $9.95 for delivery and this is free on orders above $300.
There are some MedicationsCanada.com reviews on their testimonial page. These comments are very positive and seem to be from genuine customers of the pharmacy.
It isn’t surprising to find that all of the comments posted to the pharmacy site are positive given that they choose which comments to post. It would be better to find feedback on an independent site, but despite this pharmacy has been in business for a very long time we have been unable to locate any such testimonials.
This drugstore has been in business for a lot longer than many online pharmacies. They operate the business within rules of three regulatory associations and provide some good feedback from customers.
Despite all of this, there are a number of issues that prevent us from giving them top marks. They aren’t transparent about who is operating this pharmacy and where their offices really are.
